⁴ Therefore we were ^(A)buried with Him through baptism into death, that ^(B)just as Christ was raised from the dead by ^(C)the glory of the Father, ^(D)even so we also should walk in newness of life.

^5 (E)For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, ⁶ knowing this, that ^(F)our old man was crucified with Him, that ^(G)the body of sin might be ^[a]done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. ⁷ For ^(H)he who has died has been ^[b]freed from sin.

⁶ But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve ^(A)in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
