⁴ Therefore we were ^(A)buried with Him through baptism into death, that ^(B)just as Christ was raised from the dead by ^(C)the glory of the Father, ^(D)even so we also should walk in newness of life.

¹⁷ Therefore, if anyone ^(A)is in Christ, he is ^(B)a new creation; ^(C)old things have passed away; behold, all things have become ^(D)new.

¹⁰ and have put on the new man who ^(A)is renewed in knowledge ^(B)according to the image of Him who ^(C)created him,

⁶ But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve ^(A)in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

²² that you ^(A)put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, ²³ and ^(B)be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ²⁴ and that you ^(C)put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

^21 (A)There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism ^(B)(not the removal of the filth of the flesh, ^(C)but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

^4 (A)For though He was crucified in weakness, yet ^(B)He lives by the power of God. For ^(C)we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.

⁹ knowing that ^(A)Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

^4 (A)by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be ^(B)partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the ^[a]corruption that is in the world through lust.

Fruitful Growth in the Faith

⁵ But also for this very reason, ^(C)giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue ^(D)knowledge, ⁶ to knowledge self-control, to self-control ^[b]perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ⁷ to godliness brotherly kindness, and ^(E)to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither ^[c]barren ^(F)nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For he who lacks these things is ^(G)shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
