Faith Triumphs
5 Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith,(A) we have peace[a] with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.(B) 2 We have also obtained access through Him(C) by faith[b] into this grace in which we stand,(D) and we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that,(E) but we also rejoice in our afflictions,(F) because we know that affliction produces endurance,(G) 4 endurance produces proven character,(H) and proven character produces hope. 5 This hope will not disappoint us,(I) because God’s love has been poured out in our hearts(J) through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Those Declared Righteous Are Reconciled
6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment,(K) Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person—though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves(L) His own love for us(M) in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! 9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood,(N) we will be saved through Him from wrath.(O) 10 For if, while we were enemies,(P) we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, then how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life!(Q) 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have now received this reconciliation through Him.(R)
Death through Adam and Life through Christ
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man,(S) and death through sin,(T) in this way death spread to all men,(U) because all sinned.[c] 13 In fact, sin was in the world before the law, but sin is not charged to a person’s account when there is no law.(V) 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the likeness of Adam’s transgression.(W) He is a prototype[d] of the Coming One.(X)
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if by the one man’s trespass the many died, how much more have the grace of God and the gift overflowed to the many by the grace of the one man,(Y) Jesus Christ. 16 And the gift is not like the one man’s sin, because from one sin came the judgment,(Z) resulting in condemnation, but from many trespasses came the gift, resulting in justification.[e] 17 Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life(AA) through the one man, Jesus Christ.
18 So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification[f](AB) for everyone. 19 For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners,(AC) so also through the one man’s obedience(AD) the many will be made righteous. 20 The law came along to multiply the trespass.(AE) But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more(AF) 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death,(AG) so also grace will reign(AH) through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

5 ¶ Justificados pues por la fe, tenemos paz para con Dios por el Señor nuestro, Jesús, el Cristo;
2 por el cual también tenemos entrada por la fe a esta gracia en la cual estamos firmes, y nos gloriamos en la esperanza de la gloria (de los hijos) de Dios.
3 Y no sólo esto, mas aun nos gloriamos en las tribulaciones, sabiendo que la tribulación produce paciencia;
4 y la paciencia, experiencia; y la experiencia, esperanza;
5 y la esperanza no será avergonzada; porque el amor de Dios está derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo que nos es dado.
6 ¶ Porque el Cristo, cuando aún éramos flacos, a su tiempo murió por los impíos.
7 Ciertamente apenas muere alguno por un justo; porque por lo bueno puede ser que alguno osara morir.
8 Mas Dios encarece su caridad para con nosotros, en que siendo aún pecadores, el Cristo murió por nosotros.
9 Luego mucho más ahora, justificados en su sangre, por él seremos salvos de la ira.
10 Porque si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, ya reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.
11 Y no sólo esto, más aún nos gloriamos en Dios por el Señor nuestro Jesús el Cristo, por el cual ahora hemos recibido la reconciliación.
12 Por tanto, de la manera que el pecado entró en el mundo por un hombre, y por el pecado la muerte, y la muerte así pasó a todos los hombres en aquel en quien todos pecaron.
13 Porque hasta la ley, el pecado estaba en el mundo; mas el pecado no era imputado, no habiendo ley.
14 Pero, reinó la muerte desde Adán hasta Moisés, aun en los que no pecaron a la manera de la rebelión de Adán; el cual es figura del que había de venir.
15 Mas no como el delito, tal es el don; porque si por el delito de aquel uno murieron muchos, mucha más la gracia de Dios, y el don por la gracia de un hombre, Jesús el Cristo, abundó a muchos.
16 Ni tampoco de la manera que por un pecado, así también el don; porque el juicio a la verdad vino de un pecado para condenación, mas la gracia vino de muchos delitos para justificación.
17 Porque, si por un delito reinó la muerte por causa de uno solo, mucho más reinarán en vida por uno solo, Jesús, el Cristo, los que reciben la abundancia de gracia, y de dones y de la justicia.
18 Así que, de la manera que por la iniquidad de uno vino la culpa a todos los hombres para condenación, así por la justicia de uno vino la gracia a todos los hombres para justificación de vida.
19 Porque como por la desobediencia de un hombre muchos fueron hechos pecadores, así por la obediencia de uno, muchos serán hechos justos.
20 La ley empero entró para que el delito creciera; mas cuando el pecado creció, sobrepujó la gracia;
21 para que, de la manera que el pecado reinó para muerte, así también la gracia reine por la justicia para vida eterna por Jesús, el Cristo, Señor nuestro.
