Romans 5:18-6:4

¹⁸ So then, as through one trespass there is condemnation for everyone, so also through one righteous act there is life-giving justification^[a](A) for everyone. ¹⁹ For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners,^(B) so also through the one man’s obedience^(C) the many will be made righteous. ²⁰ The law came along to multiply the trespass.^(D) But where sin multiplied, grace multiplied even more^{(E) 21} so that, just as sin reigned in death,^(F) so also grace will reign^(G) through righteousness, resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The New Life in Christ

6 What should we say then?^(H) Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply?^{(I) 2} Absolutely not!^(J) How can we who died to sin^(K) still live in it? ³ Or are you unaware that all of us who were baptized^(L) into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?^{(M) 4} Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death,^(N) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead^(O) by the glory of the Father,^(P) so we too may walk in a new way^[b] of life.^(Q)
