Romans 4:5-9
English Standard Version
5 And to the one who does not work but (A)believes in[a] him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, 6 just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works:
7 (B)“Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
and whose sins are covered;
8 blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not (C)count his sin.”
9 Is this blessing then only for (D)the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? (E)For we say that faith was counted to Abraham as righteousness.

5 However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness.(A) 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are those
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”[a](B)
9 Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised?(C) We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness.(D)
