²⁰ yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, ^(A)giving glory to God, ²¹ and ^(B)being fully assured that ^(C)what God had promised, He was able also to perform.

²⁸ And we know that ^[a]God ^[b]causes ^(A)all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are ^(B)called according to His purpose.

⁶ For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work ^[a]among you will complete it ^[b]by ^(A)the day of Christ Jesus.

¹² So then, my beloved, ^(A)just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own ^(B)salvation with ^(C)fear and trembling; ¹³ for it is ^(D)God who is at work in you, both to ^[a]desire and to work ^(E)for His good pleasure.
