25 God presented him as the mercy seat[a](A) by his blood,(B) through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God(C) passed over the sins previously committed.(D) 26 God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so that he would be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

Boasting Excluded

27 Where, then, is boasting?(E) It is excluded. By what kind of law?[b](F) By one of works? No, on the contrary, by a law[c] of faith. 28 For we conclude that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.(G) 29 Or is God the God of Jews only?(H) Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30 since there is one God(I) who will justify the circumcised by faith(J) and the uncircumcised through faith. 31 Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not!(K) On the contrary, we uphold the law.(L)

Therefore, as he was coming into the world, he said:

You did not desire sacrifice and offering,
but you prepared a body for me.
You did not delight
in whole burnt offerings and sin offerings.
Then I said, “See—
it is written about me
in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, God.”[a](A)

After he says above, You did not desire or delight in sacrifices and offerings, whole burnt offerings and sin offerings (which are offered according to the law(B)), he then says, See, I have come to do your will.[b] He takes away the first to establish the second. 10 By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.(C)

11 Every priest stands day after day ministering and offering the same sacrifices time after time, which can never take away sins.(D) 12 But this man, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.[c](E) 13 He is now waiting until his enemies are made his footstool.(F) 14 For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are sanctified.
