¹⁰ as it is written:

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever ^(I)the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, ^(J)so that every mouth may be stopped, and ^(K)the whole world may be held accountable to God.

2 ^(A)And you were ^(B)dead in the trespasses and sins ^2 (C)in which you once walked, following the course^[a] of this world, following ^(D)the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in ^(E)the sons of disobedience— ³ among whom we all once lived in ^(F)the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the flesh and the mind, and ^(G)were by nature ^(H)children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.^[b]

⁶ For ^(A)while we were still weak, at the right time ^(B)Christ died for the ungodly.

⁷ For the mind that is set on the flesh is ^(A)hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; ^(B)indeed, it cannot. ⁸ Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

^5 (A)The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every ^(B)intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
