Romans 15:8-13

New International Version

⁸For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews^[a]^(A) on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises^(B) made to the patriarchs might be confirmed ⁹and, moreover, that the Gentiles^(C) might glorify God^(D) for his mercy. As it is written:

“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.”^[b]^(E)

¹⁰Again, it says,

“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”^[c]^(F)

¹¹And again,

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
let all the peoples extol him.”^[d]^(G)

¹²And again, Isaiah says,

“The Root of Jesse^(H) will spring up,
one who will arise to rule over the nations;
in him the Gentiles will hope.”^[e]^(I)

¹³May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace^(J) as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.^(K)

⁸For I tell you that the Messiah^[a] became a servant of the circumcised on behalf of God’s truth in order to confirm the promises given to our ancestors, ⁹so that the gentiles may glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,

“That is why I will praise^[b] you among the gentiles;
I will sing praises to your name.”^[c]

¹⁰Again he says,^[d]

“Rejoice, you gentiles, with his people!”^[e]

¹¹And again,

“Praise the Lord,^[f] all you gentiles!
Let all the nations^[g] praise him.”^[h]

¹²And again, Isaiah says,

“There will be a Root^[i] from Jesse.
He will rise up to rule the gentiles,
and the gentiles will hope in him.”^[j]

¹³Now may God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace as you believe, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
