17 Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found (A)reason for boasting in (B)things pertaining to God. 18 (C)For I will not presume to speak of anything [a]except what (D)Christ has accomplished through me, [b]resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, 19 in the power of [c](E)signs and wonders, (F)in the power of the Spirit; so that (G)from Jerusalem and all around as (H)far as Illyricum I have [d]fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20 And in this way I aspired to (I)preach the gospel, not where Christ was already known by name, (J)so that I would not build on another person’s foundation; 21 but just as it is written:

(K)They who have not been told about Him will see,
And they who have not heard will understand.”

17 Therefore, in the Messiah[a] Jesus I have the right to boast about my work for God. 18 For I am bold enough to tell you only about what the Messiah[b] has accomplished through me in bringing gentiles to obedience. By my words and actions, 19 by the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of God’s Spirit,[c] I have fully proclaimed the gospel of the Messiah[d] from Jerusalem as far as Illyricum. 20 My one ambition is to proclaim the gospel where the name of the Messiah[e] is not known, so I don’t[f] build on someone else’s foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written,

“Those who were never told about him will see,
and those who have never heard will understand.”[g]
