17 Therefore in Christ Jesus I have (A)reason for boasting in (B)things pertaining to God. 18 For I will not be bold to speak of anything [a]except what (C)Christ has brought about through me, [b]leading to the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, 19 in the power of [c](D)signs and wonders, (E)in the power of the Spirit; so that (F)from Jerusalem and all around as (G)far as Illyricum I have [d]fully preached the gospel of Christ. 20 And in this way I make it my ambition to (H)proclaim the gospel, not where Christ was already named, (I)so that I would not build on another man’s foundation; 21 but as it is written,

(J)They who had no declaration of Him shall see,
And they who have not heard shall understand.”

17 Therefore I have a reason for boasting in Christ Jesus regarding the things concerning God. 18 For I will not dare to speak about anything except that which Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, 19 by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit,[a] so that from Jerusalem and traveling around as far as Illyricum I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. 20 And so, having as my ambition to proclaim the gospel where Christ has not been named, in order that I will not build on the foundation belonging to someone else, 21 but just as it is written,

Those to whom it was not announced concerning him will see,
and those who have not heard will understand.”[b]
