15 ¶ We then that are stronger ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not please ourselves.

²Let each one of us please his neighbour in that which is good, unto edification.

³For the Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of those that reproached thee fell on me.

⁴For the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction that we, through patient endurance and through the comfort of the scriptures, might have hope.

⁵¶ Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be unanimous among yourselves according to Christ Jesus,

⁶that ye may with one accord and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷¶ Therefore bear one another, as the Christ also bore us, to the glory of God.

⁸Now I say that Christ Jesus, was a minister of the circumcision, by the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers;

⁹but that the Gentiles glorify God by mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess thee among the Gentiles and sing unto thy name.

¹⁰And again he says, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

¹¹And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and magnify him, all the peoples.

¹²And again, Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles shall wait for salvation.

¹³¶ And believing, the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace that ye may abound in hope by the virtue of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁴¶ But I am convinced regarding you, my brethren, that even without my exhortation ye are full of charity, full of all knowledge, so as to be able to admonish one another.

¹⁵Nevertheless I have written, brethren, in part boldly, as admonishing you by the grace that is given to me of God,

¹⁶being the minister of Jesus Christ, to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be well pleasing, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷¶ Therefore I have something to boast of in Christ Jesus, with regard to God.

¹⁸For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not wrought by me, unto the obedience of the Gentiles, with word and with deed,

¹⁹with power of signs and wonders, in virtue of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem and round about unto Illyricum, I have filled the entire area with the gospel of the Christ.

²⁰And in this manner I preached this gospel, not where Christ had been named previously, not to build upon a foundation belonging to another,

²¹but, as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see, and those that have not heard shall understand.

²²¶ For which reason I have even been hindered many times from coming to you.

²³But now having more place in these parts and having a great desire these many years to come unto you,

²⁴when I leave for Spain, I will come unto you; for I trust to see you on my journey and to be taken there by you, if first I may enjoy your company.

²⁵But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.

²⁶For it has pleased those of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are in Jerusalem.

²⁷It has pleased them verily, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they should also minister unto them in carnal things.

²⁸So that, when I have concluded this and have delivered unto them this fruit, I will come by you unto Spain.

²⁹For I know that when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of the Christ.

³⁰¶ But I beseech you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the charity of the Spirit, that ye help me with prayers to God for me,

³¹that I may be delivered from the disobedient in Judaea and that the offering of my service to the saints in Jerusalem may be accepted,

³²that I may come unto you with joy by the will of God and may be refreshed together with you.

³³Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

15 我們堅強的人，應該擔當不堅強的人的軟弱，不應該求自己的喜悅。 ²我們各人務要叫鄰舍喜悅，好讓他得到益處、得到造就。 ³因為連基督也不求自己的喜悅；反而像經上所記的：“辱罵你的人的辱罵，都落在我的身上。” ⁴從前經上所寫的，都是為教訓我們而寫的，好使我們藉著忍耐和聖經中的安慰得著盼望。 ⁵願賜忍耐和安慰的　神，使你們彼此同心，效法基督耶穌， ⁶同心一致地榮耀我們主耶穌基督的父　神。

⁷因此，你們應當彼此接納，就像基督接納了你們一樣，使榮耀歸於　神。 ⁸我說，基督為了　神的真理，成了受割禮的人的僕人，為的是要證實對祖先的應許， ⁹使外族人因著所蒙的憐憫榮耀　神；如經上所記：

不在傳過基督的地方傳福音

¹⁴我的弟兄們，我個人深信你們自己也滿有良善，充滿豐富的知識，也能夠彼此勸導。 ¹⁵但有些地方，我寫得稍為大膽一點，是要提醒你們；我因著　神賜給我的恩典， ¹⁶為外族人作了基督耶穌的僕役，作了　神福音的祭司，使所獻上的外族人得蒙悅納，靠著聖靈成為聖潔。 ¹⁷所以，在　神的事上，我在基督耶穌裡倒有可以引以為榮的。 ^18-19別的我不敢說，我只說基督藉著我所作的事，就是用言語行為，藉著神蹟和奇事的大能，以及聖靈的大能，使外族人順服；這樣，我從耶路撒冷直到以利里古，把基督的福音都傳開了。 ²⁰我立定主意，不在宣揚過基督的地方傳福音，免得建立在別人的根基上， ²¹反而照經上所記：

Romans 15

New International Version

15 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak^(A) and not to please ourselves. ²Each of us should please our neighbors for their good,^(B) to build them up.^(C) ³For even Christ did not please himself^(D) but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”^[a]^(E) ⁴For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us,^(F) so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

⁵May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind^(G) toward each other that Christ Jesus had, ⁶so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify^(H) the God and Father^(I) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷Accept one another,^(J) then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. ⁸For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews^[b]^(K) on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises^(L) made to the patriarchs might be confirmed ⁹and, moreover, that the Gentiles^(M) might glorify God^(N) for his mercy. As it is written:

“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
I will sing the praises of your name.”^[c]^(O)

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;

Paul the Minister to the Gentiles

¹⁴I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness,^(V) filled with knowledge^(W) and competent to instruct one another. ¹⁵Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me^(X) ¹⁶to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles.^(Y) He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God,^(Z) so that the Gentiles might become an offering^(AA) acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus^(AB) in my service to God.^(AC) ¹⁸I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles^(AD) to obey God^(AE) by what I have said and done— ¹⁹by the power of signs and wonders,^(AF) through the power of the Spirit of God.^(AG) So from Jerusalem^(AH) all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.^(AI) ²⁰It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel^(AJ) where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.^(AK) ²¹Rather, as it is written:

“Those who were not told about him will see,
and those who have not heard will understand.”^[g]^(AL)

²²This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.^(AM)

Paul’s Plan to Visit Rome

²³But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions, and since I have been longing for many years to visit you,^(AN) ²⁴I plan to do so when I go to Spain.^(AO) I hope to see you while passing through and to have you assist^(AP) me on my journey there, after I have enjoyed your company for a while. ²⁵Now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem^(AQ) in the service^(AR) of the Lord’s people^(AS) there. ²⁶For Macedonia^(AT) and Achaia^(AU) were pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the Lord’s people in Jerusalem.^(AV) ²⁷They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.^(AW) ²⁸So after I have completed this task and have made sure that they have received this contribution, I will go to Spain^(AX) and visit you on the way. ²⁹I know that when I come to you,^(AY) I will come in the full measure of the blessing of Christ.

³⁰I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit,^(AZ) to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me.^(BA) ³¹Pray that I may be kept safe^(BB) from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution^(BC) I take to Jerusalem may be favorably received by the Lord’s people^(BD) there, ³²so that I may come to you^(BE) with joy, by God’s will,^(BF) and in your company be refreshed.^(BG) ³³The God of peace^(BH) be with you all. Amen.

15 We who are strong in faith should help those who are weak. We should help them with their weaknesses, and not please only ourselves. ²Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to help him be stronger in faith. ³Even Christ did not live to please himself. It was as the Scriptures said: “When people insult you, it hurts me.”^[a] ⁴Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that we could have hope. That hope comes from the patience and encouragement that the Scriptures give us. ⁵Patience and encouragement come from God. And I pray that God will help you all agree with each other the way Christ Jesus wants. ⁶Then you will all be joined together, and you will give glory to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁷Christ accepted you, so you should accept each other. This will bring glory to God. ⁸I tell you that Christ became a servant of the Jews. This was to show that God’s promises to the Jewish ancestors are true. ⁹And he also did this so that the non-Jews could give glory to God for the mercy he gives to them. It is written in the Scriptures:

“So I will praise you among the non-Jewish people.
I will sing praises to your name.” Psalm 18:49

¹⁰The Scripture also says,

“Be happy, you non-Jews, together with God’s people.” Deuteronomy 32:43

¹¹Again the Scripture says,

“All you non-Jews, praise the Lord.
All you people, sing praises to him.” Psalm 117:1

¹²And Isaiah says,

“A new king will come from Jesse’s family.^[b]
He will come to rule over the non-Jews;
and the non-Jews will have hope because of him.” Isaiah 11:10

¹³I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Paul Talks About His Work

¹⁴My brothers, I am sure that you are full of goodness. I know that you have all the knowledge you need and that you are able to teach each other. ¹⁵But I have written to you very openly about some things that I wanted you to remember. I did this because God gave me this special gift: ¹⁶to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the non-Jewish people. I served God by teaching his Good News, so that the non-Jewish people could be an offering that God would accept—an offering made holy by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷So I am proud of what I have done for God in Christ Jesus. ¹⁸I will not talk about anything I did myself. I will talk only about what Christ has done through me in leading the non-Jewish people to obey God. They have obeyed God because of what I have said and done. ¹⁹And they have obeyed God because of the power of miracles and the great things they saw, and the power of the Holy Spirit. I preached the Good News from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum. And so I have finished that part of my work. ²⁰I always want to preach the Good News in places where people have never heard of Christ. I do this because I do not want to build on the work that someone else has already started. ²¹But it is written in the Scriptures:

“Those who were not told about him will see,
and those who have not heard about him will understand.” Isaiah 52:15

Paul’s Plan to Visit Rome

²²That is why many times I was stopped from coming to you. ²³Now I have finished my work here. Since for many years I have wanted to come to you, ²⁴I hope to visit you on my way to Spain. I will enjoy being with you, and you can help me on my trip. ²⁵Now I am going to Jerusalem to help God’s people. ²⁶The believers in Macedonia and Southern Greece were happy to give their money to help the poor among God’s people at Jerusalem. ²⁷They were happy to do this, and really they owe it to them. These non-Jews have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings. So they should use their material possessions to help the Jews. ²⁸I must be sure that the poor in Jerusalem get the money that has been given for them. After I do this, I will leave for Spain and stop and visit you. ²⁹I know that when I come to you, I will bring Christ’s full blessing.

³⁰Brothers, I beg you to help me in my work by praying for me to God. Do this because of our Lord Jesus and the love that the Holy Spirit gives us. ³¹Pray that I will be saved from the non-believers in Judea. And pray that this help I bring to Jerusalem will please God’s people there. ³²Then, if God wants me to, I will come to you. I will come with joy, and together you and I will have a time of rest. ³³The God who gives peace be with you all. Amen.
