May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind(A) toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify(B) the God and Father(C) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Accept one another,(D) then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews[a](E) on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises(F) made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles(G) might glorify God(H) for his mercy. As it is written:

“Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles;
    I will sing the praises of your name.”[b](I)

10 Again, it says,

“Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”[c](J)

11 And again,

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
    let all the peoples extol him.”[d](K)

12 And again, Isaiah says,

“The Root of Jesse(L) will spring up,
    one who will arise to rule over the nations;
    in him the Gentiles will hope.”[e](M)

13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace(N) as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.(O)

Glorifying God Together

Therefore accept one another,(D) just as the Messiah also accepted you, to the glory of God. For I say that the Messiah became a servant of the circumcised[b] on behalf of God’s truth,(E) to confirm the promises to the fathers,(F) and so that Gentiles(G) may glorify God for His mercy.(H) As it is written:

Therefore I will praise You among the Gentiles,
and I will sing psalms to Your name.(I)[c]

10 Again it says: Rejoice, you Gentiles, with His people!(J)[d] 11 And again:

Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles;
all the peoples should praise Him!(K)[e]

12 And again, Isaiah says:

The root of Jesse(L) will appear,
the One who rises to rule the Gentiles;
the Gentiles will hope in Him.(M)[f]

13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him(N) so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.(O)

May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory. Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews[a] to show that God is true to the promises he made to their ancestors. He also came so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercies to them. That is what the psalmist meant when he wrote:

“For this, I will praise you among the Gentiles;
    I will sing praises to your name.”[b]

10 And in another place it is written,

“Rejoice with his people,
    you Gentiles.”[c]

11 And yet again,

“Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles.
    Praise him, all you people of the earth.”[d]

12 And in another place Isaiah said,

“The heir to David’s throne[e] will come,
    and he will rule over the Gentiles.
They will place their hope on him.”[f]

13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Gospel to the Gentiles

Accept one another, then, for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you. For I tell you that Christ's life of service was on behalf of the Jews, to show that God is faithful, to make his promises to their ancestors come true, (A)and to enable even the Gentiles to praise God for his mercy. As the scripture says,

“And so I will praise you among the Gentiles;
    I will sing praises to you.”
10 (B)Again it says,
“Rejoice, Gentiles, with God's people!”
11 (C)And again,
“Praise the Lord, all Gentiles;
    praise him, all peoples!”
12 (D)And again, Isaiah says,
“A descendant of Jesse will appear;
    he will come to rule the Gentiles,
    and they will put their hope in him.”

13 May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

10 And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.

11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.

12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
