14 Accept(A) anyone who is weak in faith,[a](B) but don’t argue about doubtful issues. 2 One person believes he may eat anything,(C) but one who is weak eats only vegetables. 3 One who eats must not look down on one who does not eat,(D) and one who does not eat must not criticize one who does,(E) because God has accepted him.(F) 4 Who are you to criticize(G) another’s household slave? Before his own Lord he stands or falls. And he will stand. For the Lord is able[b] to make him stand.
5 One person considers one day to be above another day.(H) Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind.(I) 6 Whoever observes the day, observes it for the honor of the Lord.[c] Whoever eats, eats for the Lord, since he gives thanks to God;(J) and whoever does not eat, it is for the Lord that he does not eat it, yet he thanks God. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.(K) 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.(L) 9 Christ died and came to life(M) for this: that He might rule over both the dead and the living.(N) 10 But you, why do you criticize your brother? Or you, why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before the tribunal of God.[d](O) 11 For it is written:
As I live, says the Lord,
every knee will bow to Me,(P)
and every tongue will give praise to God.(Q)[e]
12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.(R)
The Law of Love
13 Therefore, let us no longer criticize one another.(S) Instead decide never to put a stumbling block or pitfall in your brother’s way.(T) 14 (I know and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself.(U) Still, to someone who considers a thing to be unclean, to that one it is unclean.(V)) 15 For if your brother is hurt by what you eat, you are no longer walking according to love.(W) Do not destroy that one Christ died for by what you eat.(X) 16 Therefore, do not let your good be slandered,(Y) 17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,(Z) but righteousness, peace, and joy(AA) in the Holy Spirit. 18 Whoever serves Christ(AB) in this way is acceptable to God and approved by men.(AC)
19 So then, we must pursue what promotes peace(AD) and what builds up one another.(AE) 20 Do not tear down God’s work because of food. Everything is clean, but it is wrong for a man to cause stumbling by what he eats.(AF) 21 It is a noble thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother stumble.[f] 22 Do you have a conviction?[g] Keep it to yourself before God. The man who does not condemn himself by what he approves is blessed.(AG) 23 But whoever doubts stands condemned if he eats,(AH) because his eating is not from a conviction,[h] and everything that is not from a conviction[i] is sin.

14 ¶ Al enfermo en la fe sobrellevad, pero no hasta discernimientos dudosos.
2 Porque alguno cree que se ha de comer de todas las cosas; otro enfermo, come legumbres.
3 El que come, no menosprecie al que no come; y el que no come, no juzgue al que come; porque Dios le ha levantado.
4 ¿Tú quién eres que juzgas al siervo ajeno? Por su señor está en pie, o cae; y si cae se afirmará; que poderoso es el Señor para afirmarle.
5 También alguno hace diferencia entre día y día; otro juzga iguales todos los días. Cada uno esté asegurado en su alma.
6 El que hace caso del día, hágalo para el Señor; y el que no hace caso del día, para el Señor no lo hace. El que come, come para el Señor, porque da gracias a Dios; y el que no come, para el Señor no come, y da gracias a Dios.
7 Porque ninguno de nosotros vive para sí, y ninguno muere para sí.
8 Que si vivimos, para el Señor vivimos; y si morimos, para el Señor morimos. Así que, o que vivamos, o que muramos, del Señor somos.
9 Porque Cristo para esto murió, y resucitó, (y volvió a vivir,) para enseñorearse así de los muertos como de los que viven.
10 Mas tú ¿por qué juzgas a tu hermano? O tú también, ¿por qué menosprecias a tu hermano? Porque todos estaremos delante del tribunal del Cristo.
11 Porque escrito está: Vivo yo, dice el Señor, que ante mí se doblará toda rodilla, y toda lengua confesará a Dios.
12 De manera que, cada uno de nosotros dará a Dios razón de sí.
13 Así que, no juzguemos más los unos a los otros; antes bien juzgad de que no pongáis tropiezo o escándalo al hermano.
14 Yo sé, y confío en el Señor Jesús, que por amor a él nada hay inmundo; mas a aquel que piensa de alguna cosa ser inmunda, para él es inmunda.
15 Pero si por causa de la comida tu hermano es contristado, ya no andas conforme a la caridad. No eches a perder con tu comida a aquel por el cual Cristo murió.
16 Así que no sea blasfemado vuestro bien;
17 que el Reino de Dios no es comida ni bebida, sino justicia y paz y gozo por el Espíritu Santo.
18 Porque el que en esto sirve al Cristo, agrada a Dios, y es acepto a los hombres.
19 Así que, sigamos lo que hace a la paz, y a la edificación de los unos a los otros.
20 No destruyas la obra de Dios por causa de la comida. Todas las cosas a la verdad son limpias; mas malo es al hombre que come con escándalo.
21 Bueno es no comer carne, ni beber vino, ni nada en que tu hermano tropiece, o se ofenda o sea enfermo.
22 Tú tienes fe; tenla contigo delante de Dios. Bienaventurado el que no se condena a sí mismo con lo que aprueba.
23 Mas el que hace diferencia, si comiere, es condenado; porque no comió por fe; y todo lo que no sale de fe, es pecado.

The Weak and the Strong
14 Accept the one whose faith is weak,(A) without quarreling over disputable matters. 2 One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.(B) 3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt(C) the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge(D) the one who does, for God has accepted them. 4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant?(E) To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.
5 One person considers one day more sacred than another;(F) another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God;(G) and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone,(H) and none of us dies for ourselves alone. 8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.(I) 9 For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life(J) so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.(K)
10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt?(L) For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.(M) 11 It is written:
“‘As surely as I live,’(N) says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’”[b](O)
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.(P)
13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment(Q) on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.(R) 14 I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself.(S) But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.(T) 15 If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love.(U) Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died.(V) 16 Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil.(W) 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking,(X) but of righteousness, peace(Y) and joy in the Holy Spirit,(Z) 18 because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and receives human approval.(AA)
19 Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace(AB) and to mutual edification.(AC) 20 Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food.(AD) All food is clean,(AE) but it is wrong for a person to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.(AF) 21 It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother or sister to fall.(AG)
22 So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the one who does not condemn(AH) himself by what he approves. 23 But whoever has doubts(AI) is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.[c]
