Romans 14

14 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

14 Receive(A) one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. 2 For one believes he (B)may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables. 3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and (C)let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. 4 (D)Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

14 I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus (P)that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. (Q)Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. 16 (R)Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil; 17 (S)for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and (T)peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18 For he who serves Christ in [e]these things (U)is acceptable to God and approved by men.
19 (V)Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which (W)one may [f]edify another. 20 (X)Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. (Y)All things indeed are pure, (Z)but it is evil for the man who eats with [g]offense. 21 It is good neither to eat (AA)meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles [h]or is offended or is made weak. 22 [i]Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. (AB)Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for (AC)whatever is not from faith is [j]sin.

14 Tanggapin ninyo ang kapatid na mahina ang pananampalataya at huwag makipagtalo sa kanyang mga paniniwala. 2 Halimbawa, may kapatid na naniniwala na lahat ng pagkain ay maaaring kainin. Mayroon namang mahina ang pananampalataya at para sa kanya, gulay lamang ang dapat kainin. 3 Hindi dapat hamakin ng taong kumakain ng kahit ano ang tao na ang kinakain ay gulay lamang. At huwag hatulan ng tao na ang kinakain ay gulay lamang ang taong kumakain ng kahit ano. Sapagkat pareho silang tinatanggap ng Dios, 4 at sa Dios lang din sila mananagot. Kaya, sino ka para humatol sa utusan ng iba? Ang Amo[a] lang niya ang makapagsasabi kung mabuti o masama ang ginagawa niya. At talagang magagawa niya ang tama, dahil ang Panginoon ang tutulong sa kanya.
5 May mga taong naniniwala na mas mahalaga ang isang araw kaysa sa ibang mga araw. May tao namang pare-pareho lang para sa kanya ang lahat ng araw. Ang bawat tao ang bahalang magpasya para sa kanyang sarili tungkol sa bagay na iyan. 6 Ang taong may pinapahalagahang araw ay gumagawa nito para sa Panginoon. At ang tao namang kumakain ng kahit anong pagkain ay gumagawa rin nito para sa Panginoon, dahil pinapasalamatan niya ang Dios para sa kanyang pagkain. Ang hindi naman kumakain ng ilang klase ng pagkain ay gumagawa nito para sa Panginoon at nagpapasalamat din siya sa Dios. 7 Wala ni isa man sa atin ang nabubuhay o namamatay para sa sarili lamang. 8 Kung tayoʼy nabubuhay, nabubuhay tayo para sa Panginoon, at kung tayoʼy mamamatay, mamamatay tayo para sa Panginoon. Kaya mabuhay man tayo o mamatay, tayoʼy sa Panginoon. 9 Ito ang dahilan kung bakit namatay at muling nabuhay si Cristo, para maging Panginoon siya ng mga buhay at mga patay. 10 Kaya huwag ninyong hahatulan o hahamakin ang inyong kapatid kay Cristo. Sapagkat tayong lahat ay haharap sa Dios, at siya ang hahatol kung ang ginawa natin ay mabuti o masama. 11 Sapagkat sinasabi sa Kasulatan, “Ako, ang Panginoon na buhay ay sumusumpa na darating ang araw na luluhod ang lahat ng tao sa akin at kikilalanin akong Dios.”[b] 12 Kaya lahat tayoʼy mananagot sa Dios sa lahat ng ating mga ginawa.
13 Kaya nga huwag na tayong maghatulan. Sa halip, iwasan na nating gumawa ng mga bagay na magiging dahilan ng pagkakasala ng ating kapatid. 14 Dahil nakipag-isa na ako sa Panginoong Jesus, alam ko na wala talagang bawal na pagkain. Pero kung inaakala ng isang tao na bawal ang isang pagkain, dapat huwag niyang kainin. 15 Kung nasasaktan ang iyong kapatid dahil sa kinakain mo, hindi na naaayon sa pag-ibig ang ginagawa mo. Huwag mong ipapahamak ang kapatid mo kay Cristo dahil lang sa pagkain, dahil namatay din si Cristo para sa kanya. 16 Huwag mong gawin ang anumang bagay na itinuturing ng iba na masama kahit na para sa iyo ito ay mabuti. 17 Sapagkat ang kaharian ng Dios ay hindi tungkol sa pagkain o inumin, kundi tungkol sa matuwid na pamumuhay, magandang relasyon sa isaʼt isa, at kagalakan na mula sa Banal na Espiritu. 18 Ang naglilingkod kay Cristo sa ganitong paraan ay kalugod-lugod sa Dios at iginagalang ng kapwa.
19 Kaya pagsikapan nating gawin lagi ang mga bagay na magbibigay ng kapayapaan at makakapagpatibay sa isaʼt isa. 20 Huwag mong sirain ang pananampalataya ng isang iniligtas ng Dios nang dahil lang sa pagkain. Lahat ng pagkain ay maaaring kainin, pero ang pagkain nito ay masama kapag naging dahilan ito ng pagkakasala ng iba. 21 Mas mabuti pang huwag nang kumain ng karne o uminom ng alak o gawin ang isang bagay kung iyon ang magiging dahilan ng pagkakasala ng iyong kapatid. 22 Kaya anuman ang iyong paniniwala sa mga bagay na ito, ikaw na lang at ang Dios ang dapat makaalam. Mapalad ang taong hindi inuusig ng kanyang konsensya dahil sa paggawa ng mga bagay na alam niyang tama. 23 Pero ang sinumang kumakain nang may pag-aalinlangan ay nagkakasala[c] dahil hindi na ito ayon sa kanyang paniniwala. Sapagkat kasalanan ang anumang bagay na ginagawa natin na hindi ayon sa ating paniniwala.
