⁹ For ^(A)to this end Christ died ^[a]and rose and lived again, that He might be ^(B)Lord of both the dead and the living. ¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For ^(C)we shall all stand before the judgment seat of ^[b]Christ. ¹¹ For it is written:

¹² So then ^(E)each of us shall give account of himself to God.

The Judgment Seat of Christ

⁹ Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. ^10 (A)For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, ^(B)that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

The Great White Throne Judgment

¹¹ Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face ^(A)the earth and the heaven fled away. ^(B)And there was found no place for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, ^(C)small and great, standing before ^[a]God, ^(D)and books were opened. And another ^(E)book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged ^(F)according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. ¹³ The sea gave up the dead who were in it, ^(G)and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. ^(H)And they were judged, each one according to his works. ¹⁴ Then ^(I)Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. ^(J)This is the second ^[b]death. ¹⁵ And anyone not found written in the Book of Life ^(K)was cast into the lake of fire.

The Glory of the New Jerusalem

^22 (A)But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. ^23 (B)The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine ^[a]in it, for the ^[b]glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. ^24 (C)And the nations ^[c]of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor ^[d]into it. ^25 (D)Its gates shall not be shut at all by day ^(E)(there shall be no night there). ^26 (F)And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into ^[e]it. ²⁷ But ^(G)there shall by no means enter it anything ^[f]that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s ^(H)Book of Life.
