Romans 13:8-10

Love Fulfills the Law

⁸Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.^(A) ⁹The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,”^[a]^(B) and whatever other command there may be, are summed up^(C) in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”^[b]^(D) ¹⁰Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.^(E)

4 What causes fights and quarrels^(A) among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle^(B) within you? ²You desire but do not have, so you kill.^(C) You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. ³When you ask, you do not receive,^(D) because you ask with wrong motives,^(E) that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
