⁵ So we, numerous as we are, are one body in Christ (the Messiah) and individually we are parts one of another [mutually dependent on one another].

⁶ [It is this:] that the Gentiles are now to be fellow heirs [with the Jews], members of the same body and joint partakers [sharing] in the same divine promise in Christ through [their acceptance of] the glad tidings (the Gospel).

²³ For the husband is head of the wife as Christ is the Head of the church, Himself the Savior of [His] body.

¹⁸ He also is the Head of [His] body, the church; seeing He is the Beginning, the Firstborn from among the dead, so that He alone in everything and in every respect might occupy the chief place [stand first and be preeminent].

²⁴ [Even] now I rejoice in ^[a]the midst of my sufferings on your behalf. And in my own person I am making up whatever is still lacking and remains to be completed [^[b]on our part] of Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of His body, which is the church.
