14 (A)Bless those who persecute [a]you; bless, and do not curse. 15 (B)Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep, 16 by (C)being of the same mind toward one another, (D)not being haughty in mind, but [b]associating with the humble. For it is written, “(K)Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 (L)But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil.(E) Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.(F) 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.(G) 19 Do not take revenge,(H) my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[b](I) says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
