However, since we have gifts that (A)differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if (B)prophecy, [a]in proportion to one’s faith; if [b](C)service, in the act of serving; or the one who (D)teaches, in the act of teaching; or the one who [c](E)exhorts, in the work of [d]exhortation; the one who gives, with [e](F)generosity; (G)the one who [f]is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with (H)cheerfulness.

[g](I)Love must be free of hypocrisy. (J)Detest what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be (K)devoted to one another in brotherly love; [h]give preference to one another (L)in honor, 11 not lagging behind in diligence, (M)fervent in spirit, (N)serving the Lord; 12 (O)rejoicing in hope, (P)persevering in tribulation, (Q)devoted to prayer, 13 (R)contributing to the needs of the [i]saints, [j](S)practicing hospitality.

14 (T)Bless those who persecute [k]you; bless and do not curse. 15 (U)Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 (V)Be of the same mind toward one another; (W)do not be [l]haughty in mind, but [m]associate with the lowly. (X)Do not be wise in your own estimation. 17 (Y)Never repay evil for evil to anyone. [n](Z)Respect what is right in the sight of all people. 18 If possible, (AA)so far as it depends on you, (AB)be at peace with all people. 19 (AC)Never take your own revenge, beloved, but [o]leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “(AD)Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. 20 (AE)But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

25 Therefore, (D)ridding yourselves of falsehood, (E)speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, because we are (F)parts of one another. 26 (G)Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not (H)give the devil [c]an opportunity. 28 The one who steals must no longer steal; but rather (I)he must labor, (J)producing with his own hands what is good, (K)so that he will have something to share with the one who has need. 29 Let no [d](L)unwholesome word come out of your mouth, but if there is any good word for (M)edification [e]according to the need of the moment, say that, so that it will give grace to those who hear. 30 (N)Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, [f]by whom you were (O)sealed for the day of redemption. 31 (P)All bitterness, wrath, anger, [g]clamor, and slander must be (Q)removed from you, along with all (R)malice. 32 (S)Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, (T)just as God in Christ also has forgiven [h]you.
