¹⁸ If possible, so far as it depends on you, ^(A)live peaceably with all. ¹⁹ Beloved, ^(B)never avenge yourselves, but leave it^[a] to the wrath of God, for it is written, ^(C)“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” ²⁰ To the contrary, ^(D)“if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” ²¹ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

¹⁶ For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. ¹⁷ But ^(A)the wisdom from above is first pure, then ^(B)peaceable, gentle, open to reason, ^(C)full of mercy and good fruits, ^(D)impartial and ^(E)sincere. ¹⁸ And ^(F)a harvest of righteousness ^(G)is sown in peace by those who make peace.
