For Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: “The person who does this[a] will live by it.”[b][c] But the righteousness from faith speaks like this: “Do not say in your heart,[d] ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”[e] (that is, to bring Christ down), or “Who will descend into the abyss?”[f] (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near to you, in your mouth and in your heart”[g] (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim), that[h] if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”[i] 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who is rich to all who call upon him. 13 For “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”[j]
