⁸ But what does it say? ^(A)“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

¹⁷ So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

¹⁴ But the word is very near you, ^(A)in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

²¹ if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:

⁴ But He answered and said, “It is written, ^(A)‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

³⁸ But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. ^39 (A)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and ^(B)these are they which testify of Me. ^40 (C)But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
