For (A)if we have been united with him in (B)a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that (C)our old self[a] (D)was crucified with him in order that (E)the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For (F)one who has died (G)has been set free[b] from sin. Now (H)if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that (I)Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; (J)death no longer has dominion over him. 10 For the death he died he died to sin, (K)once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. 11 So you also must consider yourselves (L)dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

12 Let not (M)sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 (N)Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but (O)present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. 14 For (P)sin (Q)will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.(A) For we know that our old self(B) was crucified with him(C) so that the body ruled by sin(D) might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin(E) because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.(F)

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.(G) For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,(H) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.(I) 10 The death he died, he died to sin(J) once for all;(K) but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin(L) but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12 Therefore do not let sin reign(M) in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness,(N) but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.(O) 14 For sin shall no longer be your master,(P) because you are not under the law,(Q) but under grace.(R)
