Romans 4:19-25
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was already[a] as good as dead (for he was about a hundred years old), and the barrenness of Sarah’s womb.(A) 20 No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 being fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.(B) 22 Therefore “it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” 23 Now the words, “it was reckoned to him,” were written not for his sake alone(C) 24 but for ours also. It will be reckoned to us who believe[b] in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,(D) 25 who was handed over for our trespasses and was raised for our justification.(E)

English Standard Version
19 He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was (A)as good as dead ((B)since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered (C)the barrenness[a] of Sarah's womb. 20 No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, 21 fully convinced that (D)God was able to do what he had promised. 22 That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” 23 But (E)the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, 24 but for ours also. It will be counted to us (F)who believe in (G)him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, 25 (H)who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised (I)for our justification.

19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead(A)—since he was about a hundred years old(B)—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.(C) 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened(D) in his faith and gave glory to God,(E) 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.(F) 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.”(G) 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us,(H) to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him(I) who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.(J) 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins(K) and was raised to life for our justification.(L)
