Romans 3:5-8

5 But if our unrighteousness highlights[a] God’s righteousness,(A) what are we to say?(B) I am using a human argument:[b](C) Is God unrighteous to inflict wrath? 6 Absolutely not! Otherwise, how will God judge the world?(D) 7 But if by my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner?(E) 8 And why not say, just as some people slanderously claim we say, “Let us do what is evil so that good may come”?(F) Their condemnation is deserved!

5 But if our unrighteousness demonstrates the righteousness of God, what shall we say? God, who inflicts wrath, is not unjust, is he? (I am speaking according to a human perspective.) 6 May it never be! For otherwise, how will God judge the world? 7 But if by my lying, the truth of God abounded to his glory, why am I also still condemned as a sinner? 8 And why not (as we are slandered, and as some affirm that we say), “Let us do evil, in order that good may come of it? 5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly,(A) what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)(B) 6 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?(C) 7 Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory,(D) why am I still condemned as a sinner?”(E) 8 Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”?(F) Their condemnation is just!
