²⁰ Since earliest times men have seen the earth and sky and all God made, and have known of his existence and great eternal power. So they will have no excuse when they stand before God at Judgment Day.^[a]

¹⁰ A good man is concerned for the welfare of his animals, but even the kindness of godless men is cruel.

¹⁵ The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden as its gardener, to tend and care for it.

35 Even the wilderness and desert will rejoice in those days; the desert will blossom with flowers. ² Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the Lebanon mountains, as lovely as Mount Carmel’s pastures and Sharon’s meadows; for the Lord will display his glory there, the excellency of our God.
