17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “He who through faith is righteous shall live.”[a]

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men who by their wickedness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.

17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed(A)—a righteousness that is by faith(B) from first to last,[a] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[b](C)
God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity
18 The wrath of God(D) is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.(E)
