17 For in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith,[a](A) just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith.[b](B)[c]

18 For God’s wrath(C) is revealed from heaven against all godlessness and unrighteousness of people who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth,(D) 19 since what can be known[d] about God is evident among them,(E) because God has shown it to them.

17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed(A)—a righteousness that is by faith(B) from first to last,[a] just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”[b](C)
God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity
18 The wrath of God(D) is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.(E)
