A justificação pela fé e paz com Deus
5 Sendo, pois, justificados pela fé, temos paz com Deus por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo; 2 pelo qual também temos entrada pela fé a esta graça, na qual estamos firmes; e nos gloriamos na esperança da glória de Deus. 3 E não somente isto, mas também nos gloriamos nas tribulações, sabendo que a tribulação produz a paciência; 4 e a paciência, a experiência; e a experiência, a esperança. 5 E a esperança não traz confusão, porquanto o amor de Deus está derramado em nosso coração pelo Espírito Santo que nos foi dado.
6 Porque Cristo, estando nós ainda fracos, morreu a seu tempo pelos ímpios. 7 Porque apenas alguém morrerá por um justo; pois poderá ser que pelo bom alguém ouse morrer. 8 Mas Deus prova o seu amor para conosco em que Cristo morreu por nós, sendo nós ainda pecadores. 9 Logo, muito mais agora, sendo justificados pelo seu sangue, seremos por ele salvos da ira. 10 Porque, se nós, sendo inimigos, fomos reconciliados com Deus pela morte de seu Filho, muito mais, estando já reconciliados, seremos salvos pela sua vida. 11 E não somente isto, mas também nos gloriamos em Deus por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, pelo qual agora alcançamos a reconciliação.
Por um homem vieram o pecado e a morte; por um homem também veio a graça
12 Pelo que, como por um homem entrou o pecado no mundo, e pelo pecado, a morte, assim também a morte passou a todos os homens, por isso que todos pecaram. 13 Porque até à lei estava o pecado no mundo, mas o pecado não é imputado não havendo lei. 14 No entanto, a morte reinou desde Adão até Moisés, até sobre aqueles que não pecaram à semelhança da transgressão de Adão, o qual é a figura daquele que havia de vir.
15 Mas não é assim o dom gratuito como a ofensa; porque, se, pela ofensa de um, morreram muitos, muito mais a graça de Deus e o dom pela graça, que é de um só homem, Jesus Cristo, abundou sobre muitos. 16 E não foi assim o dom como a ofensa, por um só que pecou; porque o juízo veio de uma só ofensa, na verdade, para condenação, mas o dom gratuito veio de muitas ofensas para justificação. 17 Porque, se, pela ofensa de um só, a morte reinou por esse, muito mais os que recebem a abundância da graça e do dom da justiça reinarão em vida por um só, Jesus Cristo. 18 Pois assim como por uma só ofensa veio o juízo sobre todos os homens para condenação, assim também por um só ato de justiça veio a graça sobre todos os homens para justificação de vida. 19 Porque, como, pela desobediência de um só homem, muitos foram feitos pecadores, assim, pela obediência de um, muitos serão feitos justos. 20 Veio, porém, a lei para que a ofensa abundasse; mas, onde o pecado abundou, superabundou a graça; 21 para que, assim como o pecado reinou na morte, também a graça reinasse pela justiça para a vida eterna, por Jesus Cristo, nosso Senhor.

5 (A) När vi nu har förklarats rättfärdiga av tro, har vi frid med Gud genom vår Herre Jesus Kristus. 2 (B) Genom honom har vi också tillträde[a] till den nåd som vi nu står i, och vi gläder oss[b] i hoppet om Guds härlighet. 3 (C) Men inte bara det, vi gläder oss också mitt i våra lidanden, för vi vet att lidandet ger tålamod, 4 (D) tålamodet fasthet och fastheten hopp. 5 (E) Och hoppet sviker oss inte, för Guds kärlek är utgjuten i våra hjärtan genom den helige Ande som han har gett oss.
6 (F) För när tiden var inne, medan vi ännu var maktlösa, dog Kristus i de ogudaktigas ställe. 7 Knappast vill någon dö ens för en rättfärdig – jo, kanske vågar någon dö för den som är god. 8 (G) Men Gud bevisar sin kärlek till oss genom att Kristus dog för oss medan vi ännu var syndare.
9 (H) När vi nu har förklarats rättfärdiga genom hans blod, hur mycket mer ska vi då inte genom honom bli frälsta från vredesdomen? 10 (I) För om vi som Guds fiender blev försonade med honom genom hans Sons död, hur mycket mer ska vi då inte som försonade bli frälsta genom hans liv? 11 (J) Men inte bara det, vi gläder oss också i Gud genom vår Herre Jesus Kristus, genom vilken vi nu har tagit emot försoningen.
Adam och Kristus
12 (K) Därför är det så: Genom en enda människa kom synden in i världen, och genom synden döden. På så sätt nådde döden alla människor, eftersom alla hade syndat. 13 (L) Synd fanns i världen redan före lagen, men synd tillräknas inte där ingen lag finns. 14 (M) Ändå regerade döden från Adam till Mose, också över dem som inte hade syndat genom en sådan överträdelse som Adams. Och Adam är en förebild till den som skulle komma.
15 (N) Men syndafallet kan inte jämföras med nåden. För om de många[c] dog genom en endas fall, så har Guds nåd och gåva så mycket mer överflödat till de många genom en enda människas nåd, Jesu Kristi nåd. 16 Inte heller kan gåvan jämföras med det som kom genom en endas synd. Domen kom genom en enda och ledde till fördömelse, men gåvan kom efter mångas överträdelser och ledde till ett frikännande. 17 (O) För om döden kom att regera efter en endas fall genom denne ende, hur mycket mer ska då inte de som tar emot den överflödande nåden och rättfärdighetens gåva få regera i liv genom den ende, Jesus Kristus?
18 (P) Alltså: liksom en endas fall ledde till fördömelse för alla människor, så har en endas rättfärdighet lett till ett frikännande, till liv för alla människor. 19 (Q) Liksom de många stod som syndare genom en enda människas olydnad, så ska också de många stå som rättfärdiga genom den endes lydnad.
20 (R) Dessutom kom lagen in för att fallet skulle bli större. Men där synden blev större, där överflödade nåden ännu mer. 21 (S) Liksom synden regerade genom döden, så skulle också nåden regera genom rättfärdigheten och ge evigt liv genom Jesus Kristus, vår Herre.

Peace and Hope
5 Therefore, since we have been justified(A) through faith,(B) we[a] have peace(C) with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,(D) 2 through whom we have gained access(E) by faith into this grace in which we now stand.(F) And we[b] boast in the hope(G) of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings,(H) because we know that suffering produces perseverance;(I) 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope(J) does not put us to shame, because God’s love(K) has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit,(L) who has been given to us.
6 You see, at just the right time,(M) when we were still powerless,(N) Christ died for the ungodly.(O) 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.(P)
9 Since we have now been justified(Q) by his blood,(R) how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath(S) through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies,(T) we were reconciled(U) to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!(V) 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.(W)
Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man,(X) and death through sin,(Y) and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned(Z)—
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law.(AA) 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam,(AB) who is a pattern of the one to come.(AC)
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man,(AD) how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ,(AE) overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death(AF) reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life(AG) through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people,(AH) so also one righteous act resulted in justification(AI) and life(AJ) for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man(AK) the many were made sinners,(AL) so also through the obedience(AM) of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase.(AN) But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,(AO) 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death,(AP) so also grace(AQ) might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life(AR) through Jesus Christ our Lord.
