Seguir el ejemplo de Cristo
15 Los que somos fuertes en la fe debemos aceptar como nuestras las debilidades de los que son menos fuertes, y no buscar lo que a nosotros mismos nos agrada. 2 Todos nosotros debemos agradar a nuestro prójimo y hacer las cosas para su bien y para la edificación mutua. 3 Porque tampoco Cristo buscó agradarse a sí mismo; al contrario, en él se cumplió lo que dice la Escritura: «Las ofensas de los que te insultaban cayeron sobre mí.» 4 Todo lo que antes se dijo en las Escrituras, se escribió para nuestra instrucción, para que con constancia y con el consuelo que de ellas recibimos, tengamos esperanza. 5 Y Dios, que es quien da constancia y consuelo, los ayude a ustedes a vivir en armonía unos con otros, conforme al ejemplo de Cristo Jesús, 6 para que todos juntos, a una sola voz, alaben al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
7 Así pues, acéptense los unos a los otros, como también Cristo los aceptó a ustedes, para gloria de Dios. 8 Puedo decirles que Cristo vino a servir a los judíos para cumplir las promesas hechas a nuestros antepasados y demostrar así que Dios es fiel a lo que promete. 9 Vino también para que los no judíos alaben a Dios por su misericordia, según dice la Escritura:
«Por eso te alabaré entre las naciones
y cantaré himnos a tu nombre.»
10 En otra parte, la Escritura dice:
«¡Alégrense, naciones, con el pueblo de Dios!»
11 Y en otro lugar dice:
«Naciones y pueblos todos,
¡alaben al Señor!»
12 Isaías también escribió:
«Brotará la raíz de Jesé,
que se levantará para gobernar a las naciones,
las cuales pondrán en él su esperanza.»
13 Que Dios, que da esperanza, los llene de alegría y paz a ustedes que tienen fe en él, y les dé abundante esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo.
El trabajo apostólico de Pablo
14 Hermanos míos, estoy convencido de que ustedes están llenos de bondad y de todo conocimiento, y que saben aconsejarse unos a otros; 15 pero en esta carta me he atrevido a escribirles francamente sobre algunas cosas, para que no las olviden. Lo hago por el encargo que Dios en su bondad me ha dado, 16 de servir a Cristo Jesús para bien de los que no son judíos. El servicio sacerdotal que presto consiste en anunciar el evangelio de Dios, con el fin de presentar ante él a los no judíos, como ofrenda que le sea grata, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.
17 Tengo razón para gloriarme en Cristo Jesús de mi servicio a Dios, 18 porque no me atrevo a hablar de nada, aparte de lo que Cristo mismo ha hecho por medio de mí para llevar a los no judíos a obedecer a Dios. Esto se ha realizado con palabras y hechos, 19 por el poder de señales y milagros y por el poder del Espíritu de Dios. De esta manera he llevado a buen término el anuncio del evangelio de Cristo, desde Jerusalén y por todas partes hasta la región de Iliria. 20 Pero siempre he procurado anunciar el evangelio donde nunca antes se había oído hablar de Cristo, para no construir sobre bases puestas por otros, 21 sino más bien, como dice la Escritura:
«Verán los que nunca habían tenido noticias de él;
entenderán los que nunca habían oído de él.»
Planes de viaje
22 Precisamente por esto no he podido ir a verlos, aunque muchas veces me lo había propuesto. 23 Pero ahora que ya he terminado mi trabajo en estas regiones, y como desde hace muchos años estoy queriendo visitarlos, 24 espero que podré hacerlo durante mi viaje a España. Y una vez que haya tenido el gusto de verlos, aunque sea por poco tiempo, espero que ustedes me ayuden a continuar el viaje. 25 Pero ahora voy a Jerusalén, a llevar ayuda a los hermanos de allí. 26 Porque los de Macedonia y Acaya decidieron voluntariamente hacer una colecta y mandarla a los hermanos pobres de Jerusalén. 27 Lo decidieron voluntariamente, aunque, en realidad, estaban en la obligación de hacerlo, porque así como los creyentes judíos compartieron sus bienes espirituales con los no judíos, éstos, a su vez, deben ayudar con sus bienes materiales a los creyentes judíos. 28 Así que, cuando yo haya terminado este asunto y les haya entregado a ellos la colecta, saldré para España, y de paso los visitaré a ustedes. 29 Estoy seguro de que cuando yo vaya, nos enriqueceremos todos con las bendiciones de Cristo.
30 Hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor que el Espíritu nos da, les ruego que se unan conmigo en la lucha, orando a Dios por mí. 31 Pidan a Dios que me libre de los incrédulos que hay en Judea, y que la ayuda que llevo a los hermanos de Jerusalén sea bien recibida, 32 para que, si Dios quiere, llegue yo con alegría a verlos a ustedes y tenga descanso al visitarlos. 33 Que el Dios de paz esté con todos ustedes. Amén.

15 Los fuertes en la fe debemos apoyar a los débiles, en vez de hacer lo que nos agrada. 2 Cada uno debe agradar al prójimo para su bien con el fin de edificarlo. 3 Porque ni siquiera Cristo se agradó a sí mismo, sino como está escrito: «Sobre mí han recaído las burlas de los que te insultan».[a] 4 De hecho, todo lo que se escribió en el pasado se escribió para enseñarnos, a fin de que alentados por las Escrituras, perseveremos en mantener nuestra esperanza.
5 Que el Dios que infunde aliento y perseverancia les conceda vivir juntos en armonía, conforme al ejemplo de Cristo Jesús, 6 para que con un solo corazón y a una sola voz glorifiquen al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
7 Por tanto, acéptense mutuamente, así como Cristo los aceptó a ustedes para gloria de Dios. 8 Les digo que Cristo se hizo servidor de los judíos[b] para demostrar la fidelidad de Dios, a fin de confirmar las promesas hechas a los patriarcas, 9 y para que los no judíos glorifiquen a Dios por su misericordia, como está escrito:
«Por eso te alabaré entre las naciones;
cantaré salmos a tu nombre».[c]
10 En otro pasaje dice:
«Alégrense, naciones, con el pueblo de Dios».[d]
11 Y en otra parte:
«¡Alaben al Señor, naciones todas!
¡Pueblos todos, cántenle alabanzas!».[e]
12 A su vez, Isaías afirma:
«Brotará la raíz de Isaí,
el que se levantará para gobernar a las naciones;
en él los pueblos pondrán su esperanza».[f]
13 Que el Dios de la esperanza los llene de toda alegría y paz a ustedes que creen en él, para que rebosen de esperanza por el poder del Espíritu Santo.
Pablo y su trabajo entre los no judíos
14 Por mi parte, hermanos míos, estoy seguro de que ustedes mismos rebosan de bondad, abundan en conocimiento y están capacitados para instruirse unos a otros. 15 Sin embargo, les he escrito con mucha franqueza sobre algunos asuntos, como para refrescarles la memoria. Me he atrevido a hacerlo por causa de la gracia que Dios me dio 16 para ser ministro de Cristo Jesús a los no judíos. Yo tengo el deber sacerdotal de proclamar el evangelio de Dios, a fin de que los no judíos lleguen a ser una ofrenda aceptable a Dios, santificada por el Espíritu Santo.
17 Por tanto, mi servicio a Dios es para mí motivo de orgullo en Cristo Jesús. 18 No me atreveré a hablar de nada sino de lo que Cristo ha hecho por medio de mí para que los no judíos lleguen a obedecer a Dios. Lo he hecho con palabras y obras, 19 mediante poderosas señales y milagros, por el poder del Espíritu de Dios. Así que, habiendo comenzado en Jerusalén, he completado la proclamación del evangelio de Cristo por todas partes, hasta la región de Iliria. 20 En efecto, mi propósito ha sido predicar las buenas noticias donde Cristo no sea conocido, para no edificar sobre fundamento ajeno. 21 Más bien, como está escrito:
«Los que nunca habían recibido noticia de él lo verán;
y entenderán los que no habían oído hablar de él».[g]
22 Este trabajo es lo que muchas veces me ha impedido ir a visitarlos.

23 Pero ahora que ya no me queda un lugar dónde trabajar en estas regiones, y como desde hace muchos años anhelo verlos, 24 tengo planes de visitarlos cuando vaya rumbo a España. Espero que, después de que haya disfrutado de la compañía de ustedes por algún tiempo, me ayuden a continuar el viaje. 25 Por ahora, voy a Jerusalén para llevar ayuda a los hermanos, 26 ya que Macedonia y Acaya tuvieron a bien hacer una colecta para los hermanos pobres de Jerusalén. 27 Lo hicieron de buena voluntad, aunque en realidad era su obligación hacerlo. Porque, si los no judíos han participado de las bendiciones espirituales de los judíos, están en deuda con ellos para servirles con las bendiciones materiales. 28 Así que, una vez que yo haya cumplido esta tarea y entregado en sus manos este fruto, saldré para España y de paso los visitaré a ustedes. 29 Sé que, cuando los visite, iré con la abundante bendición de Cristo.
30 Les ruego, hermanos, por nuestro Señor Jesucristo y por el amor del Espíritu, que se unan conmigo en esta lucha y que oren a Dios por mí. 31 Pídanle que me libre de caer en manos de los incrédulos que están en Judea, y que los hermanos de Jerusalén reciban bien la ayuda que les llevo. 32 De este modo, por la voluntad de Dios, llegaré a ustedes con alegría y podré descansar entre ustedes por algún tiempo. 33 El Dios de paz sea con todos ustedes. Amén.

15 1 The stronger must employ their strength to strengthen the weak. 5 By Christ’s example, 7 who received 8 not only the Jews, 10 but also the Gentiles. 15 The cause why he wrote this Epistle.
1 We [a]which are strong, ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to [b]please ourselves.
2 Therefore let every man please his neighbor in that that is [c]good to edification.
3 [d]For Christ also would not please himself, but as it is written, (A)The rebukes of them which rebuke thee, fell on me.
4 [e]For whatsoever things are written [f]aforetime, are written for our learning, that we through patience, and comfort of the [g]Scriptures might have hope.
5 [h]Now the God of patience and consolation give you that ye be (B)like-minded one towards another, according to Christ Jesus,
6 That ye with one mind, and with one mouth may praise God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also [i]received us to the glory of God.
8 [j]Now I say, that Jesus Christ was a minister of the [k]circumcision, for the [l]truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers.
9 [m]And let the Gentiles praise God, for his mercy, as it is written, (C)For this cause I will [n]confess thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy Name.
10 And again he saith, (D)Rejoice, ye Gentiles with his people.
11 And again, (E)Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles, and laud ye him all people together.
12 And again Isaiah saith, (F)There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, in him shall the Gentiles trust.
13 [o]Now the God of [p]hope fill you with [q]all joy, and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the holy Ghost.
14 [r]And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that [s]ye also are full of goodness, and filled with all knowledge, and are able to admonish one another.
15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have somewhat boldly after a sort written unto you, as one that putteth you in remembrance, through the grace that is given me of God,
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ toward the Gentiles, ministering the Gospel of God, that the [t]offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the holy Ghost.
17 [u]I have therefore whereof I may rejoice in Christ Jesus in those things which pertain to God.
18 For I dare not speak of anything, which [v]Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient in word and deed,
19 With the [w]power of signs and wonders, by the power of the spirit of God: so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have caused to abound the Gospel of Christ.
20 Yea, so I enforced myself to preach the Gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should have built on another man’s foundation.
21 But as it is written, (G)To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see him, and they that heard not, shall understand him.
22 (H)[x]Therefore also I have been oft let to come unto you:
23 But now seeing I have no more place in these quarters, and also have (I)been desirous many years agone to come unto you,
24 When I shall take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, after that I have been somewhat filled with your company.
25 But now go I to Jerusalem, to [y]minister unto the Saints.
26 For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia, to make a certain distribution unto the poor Saints which are at Jerusalem.
27 [z]For it hath pleased them, and their debtors are they: (J)for if the Gentiles be made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to [aa]minister unto them in carnal things.
28 When I have therefore performed this, and have [ab]sealed them this [ac]fruit, I will pass by you into Spain.
29 [ad]And I know when I come, that I shall come to you with abundance of the blessing of the Gospel of Christ.
30 Also brethren, I beseech you for our Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the [ae]love of the spirit, that ye would strive with me by prayers to God for me,
31 That I may be delivered from them which are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have to do at Jerusalem, may be accepted of the Saints,
32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
33 Thus the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
