⁹ For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life^(A) so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.^(B)

¹⁰ You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister^[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt?^(C) For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.^(D)

4 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead,^(A) and in view of his appearing^(B) and his kingdom, I give you this charge:^(C)

⁵ But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.^(A)
