Death through Adam and Life through Christ

¹² Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man,^(A) and death through sin,^(B) in this way death spread to all people,^(C) because all sinned.^[a]

⁴⁵ So it is written, The first man Adam became a living being;^[a](A) the last Adam^(B) became a life-giving spirit.

⁴⁸ The one who rejects me^(A) and doesn’t receive my sayings has this as his judge: ^[a] The word I have spoken will judge him on the last day.^(B)

³¹ because he has set a day when he is going to judge the world in righteousness by the man he has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”^(A)

The Two Foundations

²⁴ “Therefore,^(A) everyone who hears these words^(B) of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Life and Judgment

²⁴ “Truly I tell you, anyone who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life^(A) and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.

²² The Father,^(A) in fact, judges no one but has given all judgment to the Son,

²⁷ And he has granted him the right to pass judgment,^(A) because he is the Son of Man.^(B)

⁶³ The Spirit^(A) is the one who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

¹² “Look, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me^(A) to repay each person according to his work.^(B)
