The Just Live by Faith

¹⁶ For ^(A)I am not ashamed of the gospel ^[a]of Christ, for ^(B)it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, ^(C)for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

The Great Commission^(A)

¹⁶ Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain ^(B)which Jesus had appointed for them. ¹⁷ When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some ^(C)doubted.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ^(D)“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. ^19 (E)Go ^[a]therefore and ^(F)make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ^20 (G)teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am ^(H)with you always, even to the end of the age.” ^[b]Amen.

^8 (A)But you shall receive power ^(B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and ^(C)you shall be ^[a]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and ^(D)Samaria, and to the ^(E)end of the earth.”

Jesus Ascends to Heaven^(F)

^9 (G)Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, ^(H)He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. ¹⁰ And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them ^(I)in white apparel, ¹¹ who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, ^(J)will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

^27 (A)And as it is appointed for men to die once, ^(B)but after this the judgment, ²⁸ so ^(C)Christ was ^(D)offered once to bear the sins ^(E)of many. To those who ^(F)eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

²³ Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for ^(A)He who promised is faithful. ²⁴ And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, ^25 (B)not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and ^(C)so much the more as you see ^(D)the Day approaching.

¹² For the word of God is ^(A)living and powerful, and ^(B)sharper than any ^(C)two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is ^(D)a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Trained by Saving Grace

¹¹ For ^(A)the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, ¹² teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, ^13 (B)looking for the blessed ^(C)hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, ^14 (D)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed ^(E)and purify for Himself ^(F)His own special people, zealous for good works.
