⁸ But God ^(A)demonstrates ^(B)His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, ^(C)Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^[a](D)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(E)from the wrath of God through Him. ¹⁰ For if while we were ^(F)enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved ^[b](G)by His life. ^11 (H)And not only this, but ^[c]we also celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received ^(I)the reconciliation.

³¹ For if they do these things ^[a]when the tree is green, what will happen ^[b]when it is dry?”

^32 (A)Now two others, who were criminals, were also being led away to be put to death with Him.

The Crucifixion

^33 (B)And when they came to the place called ^[c]The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. ³⁴ [^[d]But Jesus was saying, “^(C)Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”] ^(D)And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves.

²⁰ Therefore, we are ^(A)ambassadors for Christ, ^(B)as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be ^(C)reconciled to God. ²¹ He made Him who ^(D)knew no sin to be ^[a](E)sin in our behalf, so that we might become the ^(F)righteousness of God in Him.
