⁴ For ^(A)just as we have many parts in one body and all ^[a]the body’s parts do not have the same function, ⁵ so we, ^(B)who are many, are ^(C)one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another. ⁶ However, since we have gifts that ^(D)differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if ^(E)prophecy, ^[b]in proportion to one’s faith; ⁷ if ^[c](F)service, in the act of serving; or the one who ^(G)teaches, in the act of teaching; ⁸ or the one who ^[d](H)exhorts, in the work of ^[e]exhortation; the one who gives, with ^[f](I)generosity; ^(J)the one who ^[g]is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with ^(K)cheerfulness.

¹² For just ^(A)as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though they are many, are one body, ^(B)so also is Christ.

⁸ Love never fails; but if there are gifts of ^[a](A)prophecy, they will be done away with; if there are ^(B)tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away with. ⁹ For we ^(C)know in part and prophesy in part; ¹⁰ but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away with.

²⁰ having been ^(A)built on ^(B)the foundation of ^(C)the apostles and prophets, ^(D)Christ Jesus Himself being the ^(E)cornerstone,

^21 (A)in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into ^(B)a holy ^[a]temple in the Lord,

⁷ But ^(A)to each one of us ^(B)grace was given ^(C)according to the measure of Christ’s gift. ⁸ Therefore ^[a]it says,

⁹ (Now this expression, “He ^(F)ascended,” what ^[b]does it mean except that He also ^[c]had descended into ^(G)the lower parts of the earth? ¹⁰ He who descended is Himself also He who ascended ^(H)far above all the heavens, so that He might ^(I)fill all things.) ¹¹ And He ^(J)gave ^(K)some as apostles, some as prophets, some as ^(L)evangelists, some as ^[d]pastors and ^(M)teachers, ^12 (N)for the equipping of the ^[e]saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of ^(O)the body of Christ; ¹³ until we all attain to ^(P)the unity of the faith, and of the ^[f](Q)knowledge of the Son of God, to a ^(R)mature man, to the measure of the stature ^[g]which belongs to the ^(S)fullness of Christ. ^14 [h]As a result, we are ^(T)no longer to be children, ^(U)tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by ^(V)craftiness ^[i]in ^(W)deceitful scheming; ¹⁵ but ^[j]speaking the truth ^(X)in love, ^[k]we are to ^(Y)grow up in all aspects into Him who is the ^(Z)head, that is, Christ, ¹⁶ from whom ^(AA)the whole body, being fitted and held together ^[l]by what every joint supplies, according to the ^[m]proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself ^(AB)in love.
