¹¹ (for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of ^(A)Him who calls),

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent ^(A)to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

⁹ who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, ^(A)not according to our works, but ^(B)according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus ^(C)before time began,

⁴ just as ^(A)He chose us in Him ^(B)before the foundation of the world, that we should ^(C)be holy and without blame before Him in love, ^5 (D)having predestined us to ^(E)adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, ^(F)according to the good pleasure of His will,

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those ^(A)who are the called according to His purpose. ²⁹ For whom ^(B)He foreknew, ^(C)He also predestined ^(D)to be conformed to the image of His Son, ^(E)that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also ^(F)called; whom He called, these He also ^(G)justified; and whom He justified, these He also ^(H)glorified.

^9 (A)having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure ^(B)which He purposed in Himself, ¹⁰ that in the dispensation of ^(C)the fullness of the times ^(D)He might gather together in one ^(E)all things in Christ, ^[a]both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. ^11 (F)In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to ^(G)the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

^14 (A)These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will ^(B)overcome them, ^(C)for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; ^(D)and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Stand Fast

¹³ But we are ^[a]bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God ^(A)from the beginning ^(B)chose you for salvation ^(C)through ^[b]sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, ¹⁴ to which He called you by our gospel, for ^(D)the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

^5 (A)Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And ^(B)if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. ^[a]But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

⁷ What then? ^(C)Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were ^(D)blinded.
