⁸ and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

⁵ Jesus answered, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.^{(A) 6} What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.

⁵ By faith Enoch was taken so that he did not experience death, and “he was not found, because God had taken him.” For it was attested before he was taken away that “he had pleased God.”^{(A) 6} And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would approach God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh; you are in the Spirit,^[a] since the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.^(A)

⁵ For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.^(A)

¹⁰ so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.^(A)

³ Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.”^[a](A)

²² and we receive from him whatever we ask, because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him.^(A)

²¹ make you complete in everything good^[a] so that you may do his will, as he works among us^[b] that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever.^[c] Amen.^(A)

³² I want you to be free from anxieties. The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord,^(A)
