⁴ in order that the righteous requirement^(A) of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.^(B)

²² But the fruit^(A) of the Spirit is love,^(B) joy, peace,^(C) forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness and self-control.^(D) Against such things there is no law.^{(E) 24} Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh^(F) with its passions and desires.^{(G) 25} Since we live by the Spirit,^(H) let us keep in step with the Spirit.

¹⁶ So I say, walk by the Spirit,^(A) and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.^(B)

²² But now he has reconciled^(A) you by Christ’s physical body^(B) through death to present you^(C) holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation^(D)—

²⁶ to make her holy,^(A) cleansing^[a] her by the washing^(B) with water through the word, ²⁷ and to present her to himself^(C) as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.^(D)

²³ to the church of the firstborn,^(A) whose names are written in heaven.^(B) You have come to God, the Judge of all,^(C) to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,^(D)

⁵ No lie was found in their mouths;^(A) they are blameless.^(B)

²⁴ To him who is able^(A) to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence^(B) without fault^(C) and with great joy—

² Dear friends,^(A) now we are children of God,^(B) and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,^[a](C) we shall be like him,^(D) for we shall see him as he is.^(E)
