⁶ The Lord is with me;^(A) I will not be afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?^(B)

¹¹ in God I trust and am not afraid.
    What can man do to me?

¹⁷     no weapon forged against you will prevail,^(A)
    and you will refute^(B) every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants^(C) of the Lord,
    and this is their vindication^(D) from me,”
declares the Lord.

¹¹ But the Lord^(A) is with me like a mighty warrior;
    so my persecutors^(B) will stumble and not prevail.^(C)
They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced;^(D)
    their dishonor will never be forgotten.

⁴     In God, whose word I praise—^(A)
in God I trust and am not afraid.^(B)
    What can mere mortals do to me?^(C)

² When the wicked advance against me
    to devour^[a] me,
it is my enemies and my foes
    who will stumble and fall.^(E)
3 Though an army besiege me,
    my heart will not fear;^(F)
though war break out against me,
    even then I will be confident.^(G)
