⁹ I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.

The Law Brings a Curse

¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, ^(A)“Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

⁷ Because ^(A)the ^[a]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, ^(B)nor indeed can be.

⁵ For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, ^(A)“The man who does those things shall live by them.”

²¹ I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. ²² For I ^(A)delight in the law of God according to ^(B)the inward man. ²³ But ^(C)I see another law in ^(D)my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

⁶ But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve ^(A)in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet ^(A)stumble in one point, ^(B)he is guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, ^(C)“Do not commit adultery,” also said, ^(D)“Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.

¹⁹ For I ^(A)through the law ^(B)died to the law that I might ^(C)live to God.

¹¹ For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it killed me.

⁴ Therefore, my brethren, you also have become ^(A)dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should ^(B)bear fruit to God.
