¹⁰ And the commandment, ^(A)which was to bring life, I found to bring death.

Glory of the New Covenant

⁷ But if ^(A)the ministry of death, ^(B)written and engraved on stones, was glorious, ^(C)so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away,

⁵ For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, ^(A)“The man who does those things shall live by them.”

⁵ You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments, which if a man does, he shall live by them: I am the Lord.

²¹ “Notwithstanding, ^(A)the children rebelled against Me; they did not walk in My statutes, and were not careful to observe My judgments, ^(B)‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; but they profaned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them and fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness.

¹² Yet ^(A)the law is not of faith, but ^(B)“the man who does them shall live by them.”

²⁷ So he answered and said, ^(A)“ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ^(B)‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”

²⁸ And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and ^(C)you will live.”

²⁹ But he, wanting to ^(D)justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

¹³ Yet the house of Israel ^(A)rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes; they ^(B)despised My judgments, ^(C)‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them’; and they greatly ^(D)defiled My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My fury on them in the ^(E)wilderness, to consume them.

^11 (A)And I gave them My statutes and ^[a]showed them My judgments, ^(B)‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them.’
