Released from the Law

7 Or do you not know, brothers^[a]—for I am speaking to those who know the law—that the law is binding on a person only as long as he lives?

¹⁴ For ^(A)sin ^(B)will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

⁶ But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the ^(A)new way of ^(B)the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.^[a]

³ Do you not know that all of us ^(A)who have been baptized ^(B)into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

10 Brothers,^[a] my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.

²¹ Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?

³ For ^(A)I could wish that I myself were ^(B)accursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers,^[a] my kinsmen ^(C)according to the flesh.

⁸ Do I say these things on human authority? Does not the Law say the same?

¹⁷ But if you call yourself a Jew and ^(A)rely on the law and boast in God ¹⁸ and know his will and approve what is excellent, because you are instructed from the law;
