⁶ knowing this, that ^(A)our old man was crucified with Him, that ^(B)the body of sin might be ^[a]done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

²⁰ I have been ^(A)crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh ^(B)I live by faith in the Son of God, ^(C)who loved me and gave Himself for me.

²² that you ^(A)put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,

¹⁴ But God forbid that I should boast except in the ^(A)cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by ^[a]whom the world has been crucified to me, and ^(B)I to the world.

²⁴ And those who are Christ’s ^(A)have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. ³⁵ And ^(B)a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. ^36 (C)Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

⁹ Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, ¹⁰ and have put on the new man who ^(A)is renewed in knowledge ^(B)according to the image of Him who ^(C)created him,

^5 (A)Therefore put to death ^(B)your members which are on the earth: ^(C)fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, ^(D)which is idolatry.

¹³ For ^(A)if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you ^(B)put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
