³ Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized^(A) into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

²⁷ for all of you who were baptized into Christ^(A) have clothed yourselves with Christ.^(B)

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ^(A) and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.^(B) The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,^(C) who loved me^(D) and gave himself for me.^{(E) 21} I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law,^(F) Christ died for nothing!”^[a]

⁸ Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.^(A)

¹³ For we were all baptized^(A) by^[a] one Spirit^(B) so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free^(C)—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.^(D)

⁴ We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death^(A) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead^(B) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.^(C)

⁵ For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.^(D)

²¹ and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you^(A) also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience^(B) toward God.^[a] It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,^(C)

³⁸ Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized,^(A) every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.^(B) And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.^(C)

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(A) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^(B)
