¹⁸ and, ^(A)having been set free from sin, ^(B)have become slaves of righteousness.

²² But now that you ^(A)have been set free from sin and ^(B)have become slaves of God, ^(C)the fruit you get leads to sanctification and ^(D)its end, eternal life.

³² and you will ^(A)know the truth, and the truth ^(B)will set you free.”

² For the law of ^(A)the Spirit of life ^(B)has set you^[a] free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

Christ Has Set Us Free

5 For ^(A)freedom Christ has ^(B)set us free; ^(C)stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to ^(D)a yoke of ^(E)slavery.

²¹ Were you a bondservant^[a] when called? Do not be concerned about it. (But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity.) ²² For he who was called in the Lord as a bondservant is ^(A)a freedman of the Lord. Likewise he who was free when called is ^(B)a bondservant of Christ.

⁷ For ^(A)one who has died ^(B)has been set free^[a] from sin.

^16 (A)Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but ^(B)living as servants^[a] of God.

^19 (A)I am speaking in human terms, because of your natural limitations. For ^(B)just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members ^(C)as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

^20 (D)For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
