⁹ let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.^(A)

He will judge the world in righteousness^(B)
    and the peoples in his faithfulness.^(C)

⁵ The Lord examines the righteous,^(A)
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.^(B)
6 On the wicked he will rain
    fiery coals and burning sulfur;^(C)
    a scorching wind^(D) will be their lot.

⁷ For the Lord is righteous,^(E)
    he loves justice;^(F)
    the upright^(G) will see his face.^(H)
