⁴ Or do you despise ^(A)the riches of His goodness, ^(B)forbearance, and ^(C)longsuffering, ^(D)not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

^9 (A)The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but ^(B)is longsuffering toward ^[a]us, ^(C)not willing that any should perish but ^(D)that all should come to repentance.

God Will Be Gracious

²² What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering ^(A)the vessels of wrath ^(B)prepared for destruction, ²³ and that He might make known ^(C)the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had ^(D)prepared beforehand for glory,

⁶ And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord ^(A)God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in ^(B)goodness and ^(C)truth,

⁴ But when ^(A)the kindness and the love of ^(B)God our Savior toward man appeared, ^5 (C)not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through ^(D)the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ^6 (E)whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

⁷ that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in ^(A)His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

^18 (A)the eyes of your ^[a]understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is ^(B)the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

²⁵ whom God set forth ^(A)as a ^[a]propitiation ^(B)by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over ^(C)the sins that were previously committed,
