¹³ (for ^(A)not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;

²² But ^(A)be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. ²³ For ^(B)if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; ²⁴ for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. ²⁵ But ^(C)he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, ^(D)this one will be blessed in what he does.

⁷ Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.

²¹ Was not Abraham our father justified by works ^(A)when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? ²² Do you see ^(B)that faith was working together with his works, and by ^(C)works faith was made ^[a]perfect? ²³ And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ^(D)“Abraham believed God, and it was ^[b]accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called ^(E)the friend of God. ²⁴ You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

²⁵ Likewise, ^(F)was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?

Circumcision of No Avail

^25 (A)For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

^16 (A)knowing that a man is not ^[a]justified by the works of the law but ^(B)by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not ^(C)by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.

⁵ For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, ^(A)“The man who does those things shall live by them.”

²¹ But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

^29 (A)If you know that He is righteous, you know that ^(B)everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

¹¹ But that no one is ^[a]justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for ^(A)“the just shall live by faith.” ¹² Yet ^(B)the law is not of faith, but ^(C)“the man who does them shall live by them.”
