God's Righteous Judgment

2 Therefore you have ^(A)no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For ^(B)in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.

³ Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?

Judging Others

^37 (A)(B)“Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; ^(C)forgive, and you will be forgiven;

⁷ And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, ^(A)“Let him who is without sin among you ^(B)be the first to throw a stone at her.” ⁸ And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. ⁹ But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him.

^21 (A)you then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal? ²² You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you ^(B)rob temples? ²³ You who ^(C)boast in the law ^(D)dishonor God by breaking the law.

God's Wrath on Unrighteousness

¹⁸ For ^(A)the wrath of God ^(B)is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. ¹⁹ For what can be ^(C)known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. ²⁰ For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, ^(D)have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world,^[a] in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Judging Others

7 ^(A)“Judge not, that you be not judged. ^2 (B)For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and ^(C)with the measure you use it will be measured to you. ³ Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but ^(D)do not notice the log that is in your own eye? ⁴ Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? ⁵ You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

⁵ Then David's anger was greatly kindled against the man, and he said to Nathan, ^(A)“As the Lord lives, the man who has done this deserves to die, ⁶ and he shall restore the lamb ^(B)fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.”

⁷ Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ^(C)‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.

²⁰ But who are you, O man, ^(A)to answer back to God? ^(B)Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?”
